“My favorite ice cream flavor is Charm” (physics joke)

There are six types (flavors) of quarks: up, down, strange, charm, bottom, and top. Forms of na ice cream joke have been cited in print since at least 2004. This was posted on Reddit—Jokes on July 29, 2018:

A quantum physicist and his friend go out for ice cream. “What’s your favourite flavour?” asks the friend.

“Charm,” replies the physicist.

His friend looks at him. “Why is it that whenever I ask you a question,” begins the friend, “your answer is always strange?”

“Well it’s strange now,” the physicist protests, “shouldn’t have waited a picosecond.”

Wikipedia: Quark
A quark (/kwɔːrk, kwɑːrk/) is a type of elementary particle and a fundamental constituent of matter. Quarks combine to form composite particles called hadrons, the most stable of which are protons and neutrons, the components of atomic nuclei. Due to a phenomenon known as color confinement, quarks are never directly observed or found in isolation; they can be found only within hadrons, which exist as either baryons (which include protons and neutrons) or as mesons. For this reason, much of what is known about quarks has been drawn from observations of hadrons.

“I’d always see him around that bus stop, dressed in his ragged wool clothes, duct-taped shoes, and that plastic sheeting covered over with symbols drawn in magic-marker,” Stanford Ph.D. candidate James Willard said. “Then, a few days ago, he was out there waving his tin-foil wand at random strangers, and I heard him yell, ‘I demand that you buy me an ice-cream cone! My third-favorite flavor is strange! My second-favorite is top! My favorite flavor is anti-charmed!’ Suddenly, I realized the guy was talking about quarks.”

Server: what flavor would you like?
Me: I’ll take strange. Or charm. They’re both good.

strange and charm are 2 qua rks, also called 2 flavors of quarks, and sometimes they change flavor like from charm to strange. https://www.google.ro/amp/s/amp.livescience.com/18141-wacky-physics-particle-flavors.html

There are 6 types, or “flavours” of quarks, which are the fundamental particles that protons and neutrons consist of. One of them is the Charm quark, which has a mean lifetime of 1.1 picoseconds. It decays into a Strange quark 95% of the time.
